Before items can be scanned in the VisionScan app, they need barcodes and printed labels. VisionScan provides reports that assign barcodes to items and print labels for items and stockkeeping units. The label reports are available as actions on the VisionScan Role Center.
Note
Set the Bar Code No. Series field on the VisionScan Setup page before generating new barcodes. To learn more, go to Setting up VisionScan.
Print labels for items
- Open the VisionScan Role Center.
- Choose the Bar Codes for Items action.
- Filter to the items you need, select the barcode type, and run the report.
Print labels per stockkeeping unit
Use this when an item exists at several locations or variants.
- Open the VisionScan Role Center.
- Choose the Bar Codes for Stockkeeping Units action.
- Filter to the stockkeeping units you need, select the barcode type, and run the report.
Assign barcodes to items
If items do not yet have a barcode, run the Convert/Create EAN report. Choose the Search icon, enter Convert/Create EAN, then choose the related link. The report assigns barcodes from the Bar Code No. Series to items that have no barcode yet.
